Hearings set for charter school


The three school districts that heard the proposal to establish the York Academy Regional Charter School will take action in the next few weeks. Mark your calendars:

7:30 p.m. Jan. 25 - York Suburban

7:15 p.m. Feb. 15 - Central York

6:30 p .m. Feb. 17 - York City

Update: York Suburban voted Jan. 25 to approve the charter school application. The vote was 6-3.


Town hall at William Penn draws crowd from community, media


More than 50 people attended the Jan. 19 town hall at William Penn Senior High School. And reports of the town hall, which focused on the United Way Stay in School Report and truancy, appeared in the York Daily Record and The York Dispatch and on WPMT-TV (Ch. 43) and WHP-TV (Ch. 21).
