A YorkCounts action team recommended the establishment of a York County Human Relations Commission as a means of responsibly contemplating past community difficulties, addressing race-based friction progressively and ensuring that every York County resident has access to timely consideration of complaints concerning equal employment, housing, and public accommodation.
The action team envisioned that the countywide commission would provide education and outreach, local accessible solutions to citizen complaints, mediation services and a voice for issues of a just society.
YCCAR presented the findings of the feasibility study to the York County commissioners.
